Abstract: Edge computing enables local computation close to the sensing environment. This computation may be helpful for context-aware solutions required for IT Systems. An IT System is considered more secure if a context-based role is assigned to a user. Location is one of the interesting contexts for the security of IT Systems. The proposed solution utilizes edge computing to calculate the Zone_token for the group of workstations. The input parameters for Zone_token computation are local parameters like temperature, humidity, image, etc. The computation of the Zone_token enables the computation of the PC-token for each workstation on the edge gateway. The PC-token stored on the edge gateway is updated in the cloud IT System using IoT Cloud Services like AWS IoT and AWS Greengrass Core. The user may require different roles in different zones based on login from zone-specific workstations. An IoT app deployed on each workstation is used to grab the PC-token from the edge gateway so that it may be submitted during login, along with id, pwd to ensure the zone may be decided by the IT System and the corresponding role may be assigned to the user.
